The Crusaders are made up from a group of mercenaries who fought in the great Crusade Wars in Araby. After the Empire's failed campaign and the Empire withdrawing their troops from the warzone, many warriors returned home with little money and with little to do.
A bunch of veterans, upon return to Ostland decided to form a blood bowl team and traded their plate mail for spikey shoulder pads! Thus the Crusaders were born!
With a comaradarie that is forged in the heat of battle, the Crusaders continue to exemplify that spirit on the Astroturf! The team is led by the grizzled ex-platoon sergeant, Ares Stormlion, and he continues to inspire his team to greater heights...
The Crusaders didn't come back emptyhanded from their wars in Araby... they managed to bring back 2 sarcophagi when the Imperial Army raided one of the many tombs that littered the Araby countryside. Selling the 2 sarcophagi to a shady magician, the Crusaders raised enough funds for Blood Bowl gear and the hefty registration fee!
