And the winner is???

After much consideration and deliberation...

Andy and I are planning to jump into the Battle of Black Reach box set...
The box will give us loads of models for our armies. and also the small 40k rules booklet.

So with just the odd dollars left in my wallet... the question is.... what do i buy?

Do i buy... nominee number 1: Loota Boyz!!! Loads of shooting action for my new ork koncept...
or nominee number 2: An Ork Trukk to reinforce my current rush 'em koncept...

or nominee number 3: A Big Mek with a ...ooh... Shokk Attack Gun...

Or Nominee number 4: A Corpse Cart... haha... time to stop using beastmen chariot proxies...

And the last nominee is: A ten of the really cool skeleton warriors... although it would make my old skeletons kinda obsolete...
So guys! post your comments!

Veteran Sergeant Dienekes

Veteran Sergeant Dienekes, 1st Company, 1st Squad, the Nightwatch Chapter.

Dienekes fought in the Secret Wars of Arjuta and was instrumental in capturing the renegade Praetor Ilirium, effectively breaking the back of the rebellion. He subsequently saw much action against the Orks of Waaagh Grognar Trakka and has become an experienced and outstanding warrior. He moved quickly up the ranks of the Chapter and young as he is (by the standards of the Astartes, that is) , he now leads the 1st Squad of the 1st Company of the Nightwatch.

Recent Ork activity in the Jarsonia sector indicates an imminent Waaagh and Sergeant Dienekes will be called upon once again to head off this age old enemy of Mankind...

Imperium intrudes into Tyranid infestation

<--- Belarius Sector -->

Planet: Maleusium

Latest report from planet surface indicates that planet has a Tyranid infestation rating of Tyranno 2... Indicating the beginnings of the infestation of the planet...

Will the imperial forces be able to stop the infestation ???

Will the Orks take over the Hive Mind as the main evil in the system ?? Or will the Space Marine Chapters of the Dark Angels and Nightwatch prevail ??

What of the other forces enroute to the system ?? Will the Grey Knights be asked to help out in the system... Reports indicate too, an unknown Space Marine Battle Barge near the Jump point into the system... Will they change course to deal with the latest Tyranid Threat ??

Stay tuned!!!

Night Watch Library Archive 771

+++ Data stack 31221: Tyranid Incursion, City of Corinth, Borealis sector

+++ Elements of the 5th Company aboard strike cruiser Relentless performed a surgical insertion into the outskirts of the city environs in support of the Dark Angels forward elements under cover of darkness. Support units were dropped behind the lines.

+++ The unholy tide came too soon, before we had a chance to deploy. Grey shapes flitted in the darkness even as our first shots searched the growing light.

+++ Dawn brought a terrible sight to behold. As far as the eye could see, they were without number. Fast Attack elements raced forward to engage and heavy weapons were deployed to provide suppressive fire.

+++ Front line elements were quickly overwhelmed, but they had bought enough time for us to prepare a counter-attack. As our guns roared the wrath of the Emperor, the oncoming rush of Tyranids was stalled.

+++ Surprise attacks from enemy flanking elements disrupted our firebase. The fast-moving elements of the enemy finally made contact with our main lines. A flurry of close combat ensued. We could not bring enough weapons to bear on the frenzied horde and they advanced upon us.

+++ We held the line stubbornly, the hand-to-hand fighting raging amidst our lines. We finally threw our remaining combat elements forward to engage the vile creatures.

+++ As suddenly as they came, they left. We did not have the numbers to pursue them. Apothecaries were summoned from Relentless.

+++ Battle report recorded on Relentless main data stacks. Fresh scouts of the 10th squad deployed to gain more information about enemy movement. Action pending...

By The Dawn's Early Light

Chaplin Uri-EL,
Battle report- Security level- Omega 3 Alpha
Imperial date:2009*May*02

Thought of the day: The Emperor Protects!

+++ Battle Barge Eternal Glory dispatched to investigate early reports of a psychic disturbance in the warp.

+++ Forward scout elements make planet fall and begin an alpha pattern sweep of the area. Battle brothers from the Night watch chapter participate in the operation.

+++ Forward elements make contact at 0500hrs local time. Movement! ......Trynids! Strength and Honour brothers!! Hold fast.

+++ Reserves deploy to counter the Trynid infestation. Night watch scout squad lost contact, assume lost, first casualties of the encounter. As dawn breaks, we see the full array of the foe assembled against us. A mighty host of the most unholy and vile creatures in the galaxy.

+++ From all sides they rushed us. Forward unites were quickly over-run. They bought us time to deploy our battle line. Heavy weapons teams on our right, our revered dreadnoughts on the left.

+++ Action right...devastators managed to clear our right flank with acceptable losses. Action Left.. dreadnoughts moving up. Night watch dreadnought engaged a brood of stealers which appeared on the right and over-ran a Night watch combat squad. Action centre..up coming the Carnifax which duly engaged our own Dreadnought. Our lines were breaking.

+++As if on signal, the creatures began a fall back from whence they came. Truly , i ask was this just a probe on our lines? By the Emperor's grace we held the line...just barely.

Acceptable losses, objective achieved. Glory to the Lion. Glory to the Emperor.

****END REPORT****

You into greek legends ah?
That's pretty cool. The sad thing about orks is well, it's quite hard to theme a clan. I do like bad moonz. so maybe i'll head towards that direction...
Painting yellow's a nightmare, but should be quite fun as i don't have a yellow based army...
hmmm
time to buy more nobz in mega armour...

Planetstrike!

I like the launch pad. Not sure about the rest, but I suppose can take a better look at it when they have better images.

As for our upcoming "40k Revival!" Shall we just add all the games to the Warmaster League or will it be just WHFB and separate for 40k?

Some of the stuff I've got done in my 40k marines:

The Night Watch
================
The Night Watch patrol the breadth of Imperial space in their massive fleet, eschewing the need for a home planet. Picking the purest and best from all of the Imperium, their strength is in their incorruptibility. They are a quick response force to the various threats to the Imperium and can re-deploy with impunity because of their fleet. The Night Watch keeps a watchful eye on the baleful Eye of Terror. They have a long history of working with the Inquisitorial arm of the Imperium and the regular route of its main fleet so close to the Eye of Terror for most part of the Imperial year is no accident. The Ordo Mallus keeps a small but permanent garrison of Grey Knights within the hallowed halls of the Thunderhammer, the Chapter Master's Battle Barge, and the Night Watch is often accompanied by these veritable sons of the Emperor in their forays against their enemies.

Planet Strike

It looks cool.

Shall we put in $50 bucks each and just buy the terrain?

isS$50 enough?

Planetstrike!

Rumours abound for the new 40k expansion called planetstrike.

Apparently it won't have new miniatures, but will heavily feature new terrain and obviously the rule book.

Well, i'm not suggesting we tumble into Planetstrike, but if we're going to get involved in Cities of Death, the terrain pieces could be interesting...

Anyway, yeah, i'm getting quite hyped about cityfight. Any chance any of you have the rules?

My Orks are getting ready for a fight! Ooh... the thought of Stormboyz landing on rooftops is quite appealing...

Anyway, i leave you with some planetstrike pics i got off warseer...

Warmaster League Results

Hi Everyone,

Here are the results of the games last week... Sadly, Junx is at the bottom..

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=rKkXySSyi5YipkswpIc11Cg

A New Hope...

The black, oily ripples pulled back as the gargantuan body of the great wyrm arose from the heavy mist. Two orange gleaming pinpricks searched the darkness and finally rested on the familiar cloaked figure waiting at the edge of the lake. Arven Dawnmoon stared up at the forest guardian for a long time before she spoke.

"Old friend, our need is dire. The darkness surrounds the forests and our people have fled before the dread host. Will you aid us?"

For what seemed like an eternity, the Forest Dragon kept silent, as if contemplating the strands of the future. Then, almost noiselessly, it lifted itself up from the waters and swooped down towards the small frame of the wood elf princess. At the last possible moment, Arven leapt up, impossibly high, and landed on the back of the ancient beast. Exhiliration filled her being as the the drake gathered momentum. Then, as one, they sped towards the fleeing elven bands, praying that they were not too late...

March of the eternal restless

War Journal of Prince Ithelien, Dragon lord and Commander of the Grey legions.

Year of our lord 2009, April 24

Thouht of the day: Faith is our strongest weapon.

A new evil walks the land. The dead have arisen, they walk among the lands of the living.
How do you kill men who are already dead?

They tore through our center like posessed demons, coming through the forest who we expected our forest cousins to hold. The left wing was required to undertake a defensive action to protect the centre whilst our heavy units on the right were forced to execute a tactical withdrawl.

The undead host had at their disposal a weapon of uncanny ability that seemed to draw the life-force from all those who dare look upon it. What manner of sorcery is this!

With our center shattered, the day was lost. Our forces were ordered to withdraw from the field. Our first taste of fighting ' those who cannot die' was a bitter one.

We are the Asur, the sons of the light. A new war is starting, it rests again on the shoulders of men and elves to resist this evil that looms.

The Rise of the Dead

Viktor Von Carstein strode onto the battlefield; focusing his willpower, he could feel the invisible waves of dark power swirl around him... and he could feel the little pinpricks of sentience as he raised his army... silently, his host of undead warriors gathered around him, animated by his dark powers.

* * * *
Ithilien sat atop his mighty moon dragon and surveyed the battlefield below him... pride filled him as he saw his warriors assemble on the plains below. Elves, resplendent in their glittering scale armour, were now forming up into their fighting ranks.

It's either here and now or never, he thought. The undead menace had to be stopped before it overwhelmed the Old World. Sweeping in wide arcs in the sky, he wondered... now where were our allies...

* * * *
Imotepmyshoulder and his undead horde had been pursuing the tomb raiders for weeks now, and now the raiders were in sight... the men of the Empire had taken some precious magical relics and the infidels needed to be punished. He was about to exact his final vengeance only to see an army of elves in his path...

Imotepmyshoulders, realised that he was outnumbered, and was already willing his troops to put up a final show of power when he felt the dark powers of the vampire... it was not an alliance he would have favoured... but the situation was dire...

* * * *
The Wood Elven army crept up stealthily line up alongside their high elven kin. Junxileth the Treeman and his happy dryads, detached themselves from the forest, scaring quite a few of the high elven folk... It won't do to have the undead to rampage freely across the old world... It was with some disdain that he felt that once again the elves would have to defend the weak race of Men..........

Game results: 24th April 2009

Well, the various warlords have raised their armies in their bid to be WARMASTER.
First off, was a fight between Dylan's High Elves and Junx's Dark Elves, with the High Elves emerging victorious...

And in the latter part of the day, we had a big fight...
It was the mighty undead host of the Tomb Kings and Vampire Counts facing off against the valiant Elven Alliance of Wood Elves and High Elves...
Suffice to say that it was a dark day for the Elves... (more fluff coming up)

So now the points for the title of Warmaster is as follows... (in alphabetical order... if you're wondering)...
Andy: Pts 3 Played 1
Dylan: Pts 3 Played 2
Jason: Pts 3 Played 1
Junx: Pts 0 Played 2

Blood will be spilt on the 24th...

Ye 24th of Aprille...
Yups, everyone, we'll be playing Warhammer! Woo hoo!
Looks like me and Junx are all taking a half day on Friday, so anyone else wanna join in?
Dylan suggested this date, so he better haul his butt over on that day too.
What armies are you guys bringing?
I think I'll be bringing my High Elves. As an added incentive, I will target to get the white lion chariot base done up (so white lions and base painted) by the 24th, so it won't be so fiddly this time...
To war, to war!

The Tomb Kings awaken... but for War or for Blood Bowl?

Are the Tomb Kings coming to War or for a Blood Bowl Game ?

How shall High Priest Emotapyourshoulders answer ?? Will his magic be able to raise enough Princes and Kings to the fore ??

Only time will Tell....

Hi guys,
I've decided to restart the voxcaster. It served us well before and i think it's time to inject some energy into our hobby, so i plan to paint more often and will post stuff on the blog to inspire all of us to keep going.
We can post any damn thing we want i guess. Even your kids pics if you so choose.
So without any further delay, I will only say....
Ere we go, Ere we go, Ere we go!!!!!!!!!!
